Very confuse about this question. What is the practical pay-off in the difference between love and sex?

Both love and sex has to be considered in the views of utilitarianism and deontology

Utilitarianism seeks the greatest good for the greatest number of people, right? So approach this philosophy in terms of zero population growth. Overpopulation is a worldwide problem that contributes to famine, poverty and disease. Because the population cannot grow without people having sex, sex therefore has a negative pay-off as viewed under the utilitarian paradigm. According to the same logic, love can be viewed as being neutral for any parties who love themselves or others, and therefore has a payoff of zero.

As for the deontological approach, begin with Kant's contention that "Nothing in the worldâ€"indeed nothing even beyond the worldâ€"can possibly be conceived which could be called good without qualification except a good will". Again, define sex as a means by which to conceive a child. If NOTHING can be called intrinsically good besides good will, then certainly the conception of a child can't be either. So start there, and then provide a couple examples to show that sex as an expression of love could be considered good, since deontology is concerned more with good intentions than with positive outcomes.
